Introducing Alchemy
Alchemy is Amphora’s new concentrates CTRM. Alchemy handles the specific complexities of concentrates trading, allowing full front to back management of a concentrates trade lifecycle. Entering a contract takes around 10 minutes compared with several hours to enter and adapt concentrates data into standard CTRM systems.
The focus is on user experience – ease of use means businesses can train users within half a day and be assured of the quality of the output. The platform ensures all the correct data is captured, from deal capture, to logistics, to hedging, so that an accurate invoice may be produced from a single trusted source of data. The platform maintains a full audit trail of all data.
"All the data is entered within the Alchemy user interface. The user is never forced to move any data in order to capture additional values, so therefore all their historical data is always there in one place."
Alchemy optimises the complexities in concentrates contracts, and handles issues of weight and assay changes. It provides a robust and comprehensive pricing engine, handling complex multi-pricing reference formulas and risk decomposition. The reduction in time and complexity results in lower day-to-day operating costs, as well as reducing the costs resulting from error.
David Glasspool says: “All the data is entered within the Alchemy user interface. The user is never forced to move any data in order to capture additional values, so therefore all their historical data is always there in one place. You can enter multiple weights and assays and select which one to use for P&L or to use for additional costs that are associated with that material, just with a simple click of the mouse.”
He explains: "The summary sections for the contracts are perfect for the user to see the breakdown of the trade price, and the P&L... That's very handy for middle office to be able to back into a trade price to make sure that they're invoicing for the correct amounts – and having everything in one place saves a lot of time.”
“There’s a good summary of the execution and contract information captured. The system allows users to capture multiple weight and assay results and lets users determine which is P&L relevant.”
